European Parliament: We are happy to announce that Every Face Has a Name will screen in the European Parliament in Brussels on June 24th at 19.00. We appreciate the kind collaboration with The City of Malmö EU Office and we look forward to bring our film to the center of European politics.
In connection with the screening Director Magnus Gertten states:
“My documentary shows when survivors from the German concentration camps arrive to the harbour of Malmö in April 1945 . The situation is similar to what’s happening all over the world today on a daily basis: War refugees arriving to a new country. During 2014 and the spring of 2015 thousands of war refugees and migrants have drowned in the Mediterranean on their way to Europe. For those who make it to the ports of southern Europe an uncertain future lies ahead. Right now this is one of the most important issues for the decision makers in the EU. If my film in any way could inspire the members of the European Parliament to make wise decisions based on humanistic values I would be a very happy film director.”
Swedish Cultural Committee: On May 21 The Swedish Film Institute gathered politicians of the National Cultural Committee for a one-day seminar on film politics. We are very proud that Swedish Film Institute included Every Face Has a Name in the program and screened it for all the involved politicians.
We are currently working on more screenings in collaboration with more key political institutions including a screening at the Swedish Parliament and one with the Malmö City Council.
